**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

The purpose of the Category Manager role is to develop and execute category strategies, understand market trends and derive sustainable value for assigned categories. We are looking for someone to connect with local and international expert advisory groups for assigned categories and work closely with the Procurement Managers/ Specialists to deliver the category/ sourcing plans at Te Whatu Ora.

An experienced procurement professional looking to take the next step in their career. This is a role for someone looking to take category management to the next level, and who has the experience and background to do so.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- Commercial or procurement experience 5+ years
- Proven negotiation and contract management experience 5+ years
- Extensive experience with total cost of ownership / whole of life costing model
- A relevant graduate qualification
- Extensive experience in management of complex multi-stakeholder portfolios
- In depth knowledge of end to end procurement practice and proven ability to deliver savings
- Sound knowledge of government rules and processes, procurement framework, principles, processes, regulations and legislation
