**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

To work within our health system at this time is a once in a lifetime chance to transform the way we deliver to Māori and address intergenerational health inequities. This role is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work with Te Aka Aroturuki | The Monitoring directorate in setting up new processes for monitoring the delivery of health services to Māori across the whole health system.

You will report to the Business Support Manager - Monitoring and work closely with the Senior Executive Assistant (EA) as a key part of the DCE's Office. You will help to ensure that the directorate's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and their reports, business support functions and administrative responsibilities are coordinated efficiently and well supported in their daily activities. In this pivotal role you will actively collaborates and engages with colleagues both internally and externally.

The primary purpose of the role is to:

- Provide business support, administrative and secretarial support
- Embed procedures and administration support to ensure Directorate workflows are managed effectively
- Coordinate with other DCE Office colleagues to best support the wider team
- Work collectively up and across the organisations business support team
- Ensure effective management of the DCE Office activities and operations
- Co-ordinate all administrative matters for the directorate and event management.

You will walk alongside and be guided by the Business Support Manager and management team. You will role model manaakitanga, kaitiakitanga and rangatiratanga. Your ability to strengthen relationships and connect with others is pivotal in being successful in this role.

**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**

To be successful in this role you will need:

- 3+ years previous experience in a personal/executive or business support role
- Demonstrated experience in a medium to large complex organisation, or other government agency
- Advanced skills in the MS Office Suite with special emphasis on Outlook, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams
- Excellent organisational skills along with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines while preserving the highest levels of accuracy and confidentiality
- Be a great team player with a great sense of humour and aroha
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the capacity to manage relationships at all levels (including with senior officials and with health sector leaders)
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles in operational contexts
- Experience in successfully developing and maintaining a structured approach to managing a wide range of stakeholder relationships both internally and externally
- Willingness to personally take a stand for equity and anti-racism**.**
