Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This position sits within the Location Information team within our Customer Delivery Business Unit at Toitū te Whenua Land Information New Zealand (LINZ). The Location Information team has a broad range of responsibilities including Positioning, Mapping, Charting, Property Data, GIS services and Data Publishing and we are made up of approximately 90 people.
In the Budget 2023 LINZ was funded to map up to 85 percent of NZ's coast in three dimensions so NZ can better understand risks to coastal communities and infrastructure, though a better understanding of the coastal hazards and changes on the coast over time. It will also provide fundamental data to understand our coastal marine habitats, model tides and currents more accurately and enable the aquaculture industry. This will be a baseline survey and enable us to join datasets from the land and sea to create a continuous 3D surface model for Aotearoa.
This position is responsible for delivering the programme over the next three years through a small programme office and leveraging existing squads across Location Information. It will require external and internal engagement skills and an ability to communicate to a range of stakeholders with differing levels of technical understanding. You will need to be well organised and leverage your influencing skills. You will report to the Head of Location Information day to day, and report to the Programme Board as Programme Lead.

**The annual salary range for this role is**: $160,000 - $190,000
