Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This role sits within our SouthPAN programme of work which is one of our most diverse and interesting projects. SouthPAN (Southern Positioning Augmentation Network) will improve the accuracy and reliability of satellite-based positioning systems in New Zealand and Australia. If you have an interest in space-based projects then this is one of the most appealing projects to be on.
You will be in a Wellington based team of technical and passionate people with backgrounds in engineering, aviation, satellite navigation and positioning, so a very interesting bunch of people.
The wider virtual team includes Geoscience Australia, and the team-work with multiple stakeholders in Australia, US, Spain & UK. This means that some flexibility may be required to collaborate/meet from different time zones, and there may be occasional travel to Australia.
This position's purpose is to contribute to this technical team by:

- Provide GNSS technology expertise and technical knowledge to the project,
- Develop and implement interface requirements and support the provision of Government Furnished Elements,
- Participate in verification and validation activities,
- Develop support and test equipment to enable integration, testing, acceptance, and certification audits.

He pūkenga tou - Skills & Experience
- Service infrastructure projects, ideally in a public sector setting,
- GNSS positioning experience (Global Navigation Satellite Systems),
- Have actively worked with diverse stakeholders both internal and externally,
- Being able to perform and breakdown technical engineering processes and communicate effectively,
- Collaboration with team on varied perspectives to navigate the appropriate way forward (you see what we did there),
- Qualification in relevant field,

**Nice to have**:

- A background in Geodesy,
- Systems engineering processes potentially in Aviation, Space, Satellites.
- Coding/scripting experience

**The annual salary range for this role is**: $124,000 - $139,000.
