The National Intelligence Centre provides critical intelligence which is instrumental in preventing crime and enhancing community safety. It works across Police coordinating between District Intelligence Units, other Police intelligence functions, and domestic and global agencies. Through the leveraging of collective knowledge and skills, the NIC positions itself as a leader in intelligence.

You will join the National Intelligence Centre and work at a senior and Strategic level across police. You will be recognised as the geospatial leader for Police and within that lead a small team of geospatial experts who are delivering critical geospatial information across police.

Our aim is to leverage the geographic component inherent in virtually all data to create a platform for capturing, integrating, and visualising information. Geospatial data is not limited to mapping, it is also the basis for undertaking analysis used to create geographic models, providing intelligence insights and data visualization for more accurate modelling and predictions of trends.

The role will be an opportunity for you to implement the future strategy of GIS for police - from how it is used and resourced across groups to how the architecture needs to work.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Provide geospatial strategic and technical leadership
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers
- Take responsibility for the strategic overview of the NZP systems and how they integrate with GIS, including documentation and project management of short-term and long-term strategy for geospatial implementation
- Lead a small team of specialists, while working alongside other teams to increase capability across Our Business units and their associated systems.
- Coach and mentor across Police using your technical expertise and experience to support the advancement of geospatial skillsets

**Experience - you will have**:

- Experience in working in a fast-paced operational environment
- Experience in leading staff and developing high performance teams
- High level of Technical skills (must be highly capable in ArcGIS with 10 years plus experience in AGOL, ArcPro 2 +, Esri 3, web app development)
- Programme management skills
- Top class communication skills both verbal and written
- Can do attitude
- Open to innovation and development
- Resilience and ability to think, act and adapt at speed
