The Older Persons Mental Health team has a focus on assessment and management of older adults with mental illness and/ or cognitive disorders. The team provides comprehensive assessment of the mental health of older people, whilst aiming to optimise the patient’s level of functioning, offering specialist treatment, care, support and education.

As a Clinical Administrator you will be working within this fast-paced environment. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running, is flexible and adaptable to change. In this role, you will be supporting multiple Doctors in an end to end service.

This is a permanent, part-time (20 hours per week) role that requires you to work between Monday to Friday, hours are negotiable. This role will be based at Burwood Hospital.

As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement this role has been mapped to National Band 4/Profile 4A

In this role, you will be responsible for:

- Coordinating appointments with our clinicians
- Transcribing letters and Doctors’ notes
- Medical typing - Dictaphone typing
- Ensuring all information is collated, patient records are complete and managed
- Manage phone queries
- Process referrals
- Prepare forms and files for clinicians
- Complete Mental Health Act reports
- Diary management
- Upload relevant documents to patient management system

Your skills will include:

- Experience in medical secretary roles
- Typing skills (70 WPM)
- Communications and interpersonal skills
- Customer service skills
- Organisational, time management and problem solving skills
- Ability to achieve accuracy and maintain attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- Intermediate to advanced user in the Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Experience using SIPIC would be beneficial
