Te Tari Pūreke takes every opportunity to prevent harm through the transparent, consistent, timely and efficient administration, education, and promotion of compliance with the provisions of the Arms Act. It earns trust and confidence by working together, in partnership with other policing groups, the firearms community, wider New Zealand public and other agencies and organisations to achieve collective impact.

This is a newly established role within a business unit which has been established to enable New Zealand to be a world leader in arms safety through an effective regulatory and administrative approach to the Arms Act and Arms Regulations.

The role will support the Manager, Regulatory Services to lead and own the effective implementation of new systems, products, processes that are administered by Registry and Services.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Strategic capability with the ability to think beyond immediate issues and consider long term and broader implications.
- Leadership and change management skill with the ability to lead change, set clear expectations and motivate managers and staff to achieve them.
- Proven success in introducing and driving innovative business practices to achieve positive results.
- Experience working in the development of operational strategy to meet business strategic objectives.
- Experience in development of a system improvement/upgrade plan to maximum use of existing technology.
- Proven success in developing, leading, and motivating high performing delivery teams that achieve results.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with credibility both within and across organisations/sectors.
- Ability to influence and gain the confidence of diverse stakeholders. Good relationship management skills to build purposeful relationships both internally and externally.
