Our Cardiology department is located in Christchurch Hospital, this department specialises in diagnosing and treating diseases or conditions of the heart and blood vessels—the cardiovascular system. Cardiology is one of the busiest services within the Health NZ Te Whatu Ora - Waitaha, Canterbury with over 30,000 appointments per year.

As a Booking Administrator, you will be working in this fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in our service, helping to achieve the best outcomes for our tūroro (patients) and whanaū while working within a great kapa (team). This is a full-time permanent position based in Christchurch Hospital.

This role you will be providing quality booking support to a busy but friendly department. Your role will predominately involve:

- Coordinating appointments with our clinicians and tūroro (patients) working in accordance with Waitaha Canterbury standards and Ministry of Health targets for booking practices.
- Collating information and ensuring completeness of the record
- Various administration tasks
- Providing excellent customer service
- Managing clinics
- Coverage of duties when peers are away
- Help with transcription when required

Your skills will include:

- Excellent organisational, time management and problem-solving skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and work unsupervised
- Intermediate user in Microsoft suite of products e.g. Word, Outlook, Excel
- Customer service and communication skills
- Broad administrative experience in a health-related field.
- Awareness of and sensitivity to people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with the public hospital system, including patient management systems.
