As the Parliamentary Senior MP Support to Tama Potaka, MP, you'll ensure everything runs smoothly in their Electorate Office Day in and day out.

With no two days the same, this role requires someone with strong relationship building and time management skills.

A typical day may include;

  • Office management including developing and overseeing the office budget
  • Providing high quality advice and advocacy to the constituents in your community
  • Leadership and mentoring of your colleagues in the office
  • Building, developing, and maintaining strong relationships within the community
Your friends and whānau describe you as approachable, calm, and resilient.

You're a strong leader who will enjoy collaborating with others and are well known for your impeccable problem-solving skills and adaptable nature.

As an employee of Parliamentary Service, you will be apolitical in your role. Awareness of the political landscape would be beneficial in supporting your MP. You'll appreciate the sometimes-unpredictable nature of this environment and instead of letting it faze you, you thrive on it.


To ensure our people feel supported and enabled to develop their knowledge and careers, you will receive a Parliamentary Service induction which will set you up to succeed within this environment, as well as ongoing learning and development opportunities.

This is an events-based, fixed-term role linked to the MP, working 20 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours may be required.

The appointing salary band for this role is $60,052 to $82,858 per annum (pro-rata to 20 hours). Appointments will be based on your skills and experience.
