In the electorate office team of Tama Potaka, you'll help make sure everything runs smoothly day in and day out.

This role is multifaceted and challenging with no two days the same. You'll be stepping into an environment that is unique, exciting, and rewarding.

Some of the duties you'll be responsible for include:

  • Providing high quality advice and advocacy to constituents in your community
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Ensuring the office runs smoothly
  • News and social media monitoring

Ideally you will have an understanding of the political landscape and issues facing the Hamilton West community.


To ensure our people feel supported and enabled to develop their knowledge and careers, you will receive a Parliamentary Service induction which will set you up to succeed within this environment, as well as ongoing learning and development opportunities.

This is an apolitical, events-based role linked to the Member of Parliament, working 20 hours per week. Some flexibility in hours may be required.

The appointing salary band for this role is $56,811 to $78,386 per annum (pro-rata to 20 hours). Appointments will be based on your skills and experience.
