As an MP Support Advisor, you'll be working based in the Hamilton East electorate office, part time from hours per week.

You'll provide community engagement and constituent services for Ryan Hamilton MP.

This is a wide and varied position and at times you'll need to support the Member at community-based events and other times attend these meetings.

The ability to build strong and trusted relationships is key to being successful in this role.

You'll need to have strong relationship management, sound financial management skills along with strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to work with a diverse range of people and organisations.

You'll work within the MP's support team based out of the Hamilton East office, although at times will be required to work autonomously.

  • Liaise between the Member and the community, representing the Member where required
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local groups and networks, to understand and respond to their needs
  • Receive and investigate constituents' concerns and issues, meeting with constituents for further information where required
  • Advocate for constituents at Ministerial level, with Government agencies, e.g. Work & Income, Immigration NZ, and with other business and community organisations where required
