Job Overview & Purpose:


The Major Agribusiness Team Lead is responsible for the coordination and management of workflow within the Major Agribusiness Client (MAC) Team (several offices).

The role ensures that the preparation of all submissions and client related tasks undertaken by support staff are completed efficiently, accurately and consistently (in line with Bank Standards and risk appetite).

Through coaching, mentoring and facilitating the training and development needs of direct reports.

The Retail and Rural sector of Rabobank Australia and New Zealand Group (RANZG) is an important contributor to Rabobank globally.

To contribute to achieving CBNZ goals for client satisfaction, staff engagement, credit quality, and business performance.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

People Leadership

  • Coordinate and manage the workflow for all Major Agribusiness Analysts
  • Lead, motivate, coach and proactively manage an effective and engaged Major Agribusiness Analyst team including accountability for development plans and training
  • To inspire, lead, develop, manage and motivate a group of analysts to achieve individual, team and divisional KPI's and objectives
  • Proactively manage the performance of the employees in the team
  • Be a key senior contact point with Regional, Area, Farmbase and Agribusiness Managers for the Major Agribusiness Analyst team
  • Critically evaluate operations and activities to ensure consistency, quality and the implementation of best practice
  • Ensure the analyst team provide support to Major Agribusiness Managers in responding to the requirements of new and existing clients
  • Contribute and collaborate towards achieving the goals and objectives in line with the CBNZ strategy
  • Translate, provide guidance and advice to staff on changes to policy and procedure, compliance, risk, legal and system updates
  • Proactively engage in the identification, selection and hiring of analyst team members, in collaboration with the National Business Manager, MAC
  • Lead by example through own positive and constructive behaviour
  • Addresses and shows respect for differences in working style and backgrounds to enhance team results
  • Foster an inclusive environment where diversity of thought is encouraged.
  • Provides one on one coaching with team members and regularly monitor progress of personal development goals and objectives

Customer Service:

  • Promote high levels of customer service through monitoring feedback from stakeholders and providing feedback to staff in a timely manner
  • Have a good network of stakeholders to leverage off

Risk Management:

  • Shared ownership of the prudential performance of MAC
  • Accountable for minimizing the number of credit/operational reworks, operational incidents and overdue audit items
  • Drive the coordination, allocation and completion of reviews with an emphasis on lowering reworks and identifying poorperforming assets early and work with Credit/FR to ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve
  • Always ensure compliance with the banks policies and procedures, including Audit, Risk, Compliance, Business Continuity and Credit (i.e. managing excesses & TLI's, completing reviews and managing special conditions etc)
  • Promote the desired risk culture and maintain strong relationships with all lines of defence with primary responsibility held within the team for reporting, monitoring and management of local business risk
  • Ensure that operational risks, audit points and compliance requirements that arise are adequately identified, assessed and mitigated
  • Adherence with local regulatory requirements and local policy and ensure staff are familiar with all regulations, and standards

Operational Excellence and innovation:

  • Challenge the norm through continual reassessment of processes, create a culture of continuous improvement
  • Create tools to manage and effectively plan resources and tasks
  • Actively seek out innovative ideas that can be applied to MAC (project lead as required)

Business Knowledge

  • Keep up to date with good understanding and knowledge of banking and finance IT systems, Governance structures and business processes and standards
  • Understanding of regulatory/compliance issues in New Zealand
  • Manage Front Office/Leadership enquiries as they pertain to MAC
  • Preparation of various internal and external reporting within required deadlines

General
