About the opportunity

Our Dairyfert team specialises in sustainable management of nutrients from Fonterra's manufacturing sites across the Waikato as well as supporting other regions with by-product management.


Based out of our Hautapu Depot, the Spreading Lead will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and oversight of land based dairy by-product spreading operations.

You will lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team of x4 Machinery Operations and temporary staff. You will provide by-product operational expertise and technical support of spreading equipment (e.g. tractors, wagons, storage tanks etc).


Communication and collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders will be key to your success to ensure the smooth running of operations.

Reporting to the Nutrient Manager, you will help assist with continuous improvement initiatives and execute Business Management System (BMS) responsibilities.


Working Monday to Friday this role offers excellent work life balance, although occasional on-call or weekend days may be required.

You will have the opportunity to grow and develop your career, with exposure to operational tasks, planning and collaboration with Dispatch, Dairy Fert Environmental Team and Farm Managers.

  • Class 2 Drivers Licence with experience operating heavy vehicles within the Agricultural sector
  • Strong health & safety focus and machine operating practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Tech savvy and computer skills including competency with record keeping on digital platforms.
