Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.
You will provide high quality, timely executive support to the Regional Director of the National Public Health Service for Te Manawa Taki or Northern Region.
Within this role you will work closely with the Regional Director, managing and prioritising communications, including complex calendar management, meeting arrangements, travel, agenda preparation, and minute taking.
You will have a strong focus on forward planning and time management, ensuring efficient and seamless logistics.You will manage calendars and correspondence in a way that ensures time is invested on the right outcomes and deliverables and ensuring the Regional Director's work programme is proactively managed to ensure smooth and effective delivery.
You will act as a liaison between the Regional Director and other senior leaders, business units and external stakeholders. This is a full-time permanent role.Mōu | About you
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Demonstrated experience in a medium to large complex organisation, or other government agency
- Minimum of secondary school NCEA, or comparable working experience working in an executive administrative support role.
- Certificates and diploma in an area relevant to administration is desirable.
- Previous experience in an Executive Assistant role providing support to a senior executive and their team.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Pae Ora & Te Tiriti o Waitangi demonstrates an understanding of Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) Act 2022, the significance, and obligations of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to give effect to these expectations in a meaningful way, and the commitments to equity and priorities of Wai2575. Have an appreciation of crosscultural matters, including knowledge of tikanga Māori (or a willingness to learn).
- Communication effectiveness demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relationship effectiveness demonstrates an ability to build rapport, being a good listener, and easy to approach and talk to.
- Government and health sector experience desirable
