The purpose of the Manager Corporate Services is to provide a wide range of products, services and support to the Chief of Defence Intelligence, the NZDF, other NZ and foreign Government Departments in accordance with current defence security policy and in response to specific requests from defence security customers.


Key responsibilities:

  • Budget management;
  • Compliance and administrative requirements;
  • Records management;
  • Management of civilian policies and HR administration requirements;
  • Coordination of Ministerial enquires, PQ's, OIA Requests and general Correspondence;
  • Travel and event management;
  • Liaison with the NZDF Branches; and
  • Meeting daytoday organisational and administrative demands.

Proven leadership and experience in managing the day-to-day operational requirements.

Having sound relationship management skills, a knowledge of ministerial enquiries and compilation of responses to OIA and PQ requests will be part of your success in this role.


You will also have the following:

  • 5+ years' experience in operational security management within a client focused environment;
  • Previous experience with financial management including understanding of budgets;
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to explain and influence;
  • Previous experience writing business documentation, including ministerial and OIA responses (advantageous);
  • Experience managing corporate support in a dynamic environment;
  • A good understanding of the NZ Security and Intelligence sector;
  • High level of Computer literacy
  • MS Office Suite and electronic Database Management systems;
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A flexible and adaptive attitude to the changing needs of the team, unit and wider organisation;
  • Experience in growing and developing talent to perform extremely well and achieve high level outcomes for the customer; and
  • Stakeholder Management experience providing feedback, reporting and advice to the Leadership team/ key stakeholders and input on improving existing processes.
