Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand St Andrew's College Full time

_Who are we?_
St Andrew's College is recognised as one of New Zealand's leading independent schools. We are a co-educational school and boarding school with a proud heritage, educating akōnga from Pre-School to Year 13.

We balance our teaching and learning between traditional and creative approaches and seek staff who embrace change and new ideas.

Outside the classroom we offer an extensive co-curricular programme involving all our akōnga and Kaiako.

_ About the role_

The Director of Rowing is a leadership role responsible for leading the College's rowing programme which is an integral part of the St Andrew's sporting co-curriculum programme.

The key purpose of the role is to co-ordinate a passionate and positive group of coaches, rowing support staff and parent committee to deliver our leading co-educational rowing programme.

The role requires significant organisation and planning as well as highly effective communication skills to manage our large co-ed rowing team.

The role also includes promoting the College's rowing vision and role modelling high standards of commitment, effort, conduct and team culture.

The role works closely with the handpicked team of professionals which includes management and coaching staff.

It also involves identifying rowing talent and fostering the growth of individuals all while promoting and adhering to best practice.

With competitions and regattas away from Christchurch, the Director of Rowing will be responsible for a fair and transparent selection process as well as ensuring that key staff have managed the logistics, such as transport and accommodation bookings.

Oversight of a large school rowing budget is also a necessary requirement of the role.

The sports department is made up of a highly skilled and collaborative team of lead staff across sporting codes, (including the Director of Rowing) who together are in charge of delivering a sporting programme catering for all students, underpinned by our StAC Sport Framework.

_ What you'll bring to the role_

You will bring a positive and knowledgeable mindset having previously worked alongside high performing athletes and leading other rowing programmes.

Being highly organised and committed to a successful Rowing programme, you will demonstrate and role model leadership and technical expertise.

Being someone who is naturally able to bring a large rowing community on a successful journey, you will demonstrate your professional expertise and attitude, all while staying engaged with multiple stakeholders.

In addition, current experience either as a fully registered teacher or leadership in other sport specific expertise would be favourable.
