Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
As the Professor | Director of the Ngāi Tahu Research Centre (NTRC), you will be providing academic and people leadership to the NTRC as well as having a focus on Māori research and scholarship at UC. The University and Ngāi Tahu are committed to a collaborative partnership aimed at enhancing Māori research capacity to support Iwi in achieving their aspirations. You will adeptly navigate interactions with Iwi, academic peers, governmental bodies, and other relevant organizations to advance research initiatives beneficial to NTRC and Iwi. You will be experienced in working with academic and professional/general staff, and a range of different organizations to enhance research of benefit to Iwi. As well as your innovative and insightful research and a publication track record, you will have strong and proven leadership and team building skills, that will be used to support building and growing the capability of the NTRC team.

Mahi Ngātahi | Who You Will Work With

The Centre was established in August 2011 as a joint initiative between Ngāi Tahu and the University of Canterbury. NTRC collaborates closely with leading scholars and institutions internationally and are recognised as thought leaders in indigenous tribal development.
