We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced coordinator to join our team on a permanent full-time basis.
This an excellent role for someone wanting to gain insight on how MBIE operates at a strategic level and learn more about governance.
As our Governance Coordinator you will be a key member of the team providing coordination and administrative support to the Governance team in delivering Mana Whakaruruhau - MBIE's governance system.
You will have a real opportunity to develop your understanding of how large organisations work to improve the overall environment and connection to a common cause.
Your work week will be varied but rewarding, and require a collaborative approach to work in partnership with the team and wider MBIE.
Your day might include scheduling meetings, preparing agendas and distributing materials and meeting packages, supporting the Secretariate in running of governance committee meetings and inbox and diary management.
We are looking for someone who works well in a busy team environment and has good attention to detail. You will take initiative, collaborate well with your peers, embrace different ways of working, and effectively prioritise your workload.
We provide a wide range of flexible working arrangements to support work-life balance including flexible working hours, and some days working from home to name a few.

Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A proven track record of experience in a governance coordination or a similar administrative role
- Wide ranging knowledge of administration systems and processes, particularly in the context of governance support
- Excellent communications skills and strong attention to detail
- Sound interpersonal skills with experience managing key relationships at all levels
- The ability to prioritise and actively manage multiple work streams within tight time constraints
- A team player who actively contributes to a positive team and branch culture
- The legal right to live and work in Aotearoa New Zealand
