We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Advisor to join the Government Finance Profession team. We are a small team housed within Treasury that works with government financial professionals, Treasury teams, functional leads, and other stakeholders to lift the performance of finance functions within and across agencies.
Our work programme is organised around the Finance Development Programme and the following three workstreams:

- People: attracting, retaining, and developing finance professionals.
- Common practices: reusing, standardising, and sharing knowledge of core systems, processes, and policies.
- Issues management: other initiatives where there is a clear benefit for a collective approach.

Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
Working with senior finance leaders and other stakeholders to deliver on the work programme, the Senior Advisor will lead and coordinate cross-agency project teams, develop and deliver guidance and training, and bring their expertise and insights into the planning and strategic direction settings of the government finance profession.

**You will also bring**:

- A graduate tertiary qualification or relevant applicable experience
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships and networks with a diverse range of stakeholders
- Considerable experience working with complex and ambiguous issues
- Highly effective planning and organisational skills, with a strong focus on delivery
- Strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate complex issues and concepts clearly, succinctly and with influence
- Personal integrity, sound judgement and an honest and ethical approach
- Ability to obtain an appropriate security clearance
