This privately owned business comprises of a group of companies focused on diverse areas of interest, and it has been operating over two family generations.

It intentionally maintains a low profile, despite the high profile nature of some of its business interests, which cover land development, commercial property and related interests, and farming.


They are seeking an experienced senior accountant or Finance Manager, with a strong foundation in management accounting and working with farming related accounts, to work closely with the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in supporting the Board with its business planning and decision making.

This new role has been created in response to increasing business demands, but also with consideration of risk management and succession planning.

You will have the opportunity to work and be mentored by the COO, who has been with the business for a significant period of time.


Key responsibilities will include preparing information for annual and long term forecasting and budgeting processes, supporting the preparation of monthly management reporting, weekly and monthly cashflows reports, risk management and the active analysis of overall business financial performance and KPI's across the group.

In addition, there will be the preparation of financial statements and ensuring tax and legislative compliance is maintained.


Important attributes sought for the position includes previous senior financial accounting and management accounting experience at a senior level, in a CA practice or privately owned business.

You must have excellent written and oral communication skills, be commercially aware, have good problem solving and organisational skills and be timely and accurate in your delivery of reports, information and advice.

It is also important that you have demonstrated the ability to work autonomously. It is desirable that you are a member of CAANZ, and have worked with Xero and/or are Xero certified.
