About the role:


The primary purpose of the Product Manager - Infrastructure is to manage and maintain Te Wānanga o Aotearoa infrastructure, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Cisco Network, to ensure it is reliable, efficient, and secure.

The role will be responsible for defining and delivering infrastructure products and services that meet the needs of the organisation and its tauira.


The role also involves providing leadership and direction to a team of engineers, managing resources and budgets, and identifying and mitigating risks.

The position will work closely with other IT team members and business leaders to understand and align business needs with IT capabilities and objectives.


In this role you'll:

  • Identify and manage resources needed for budgeting, estimating, planning, developing and delivering a specified portfolio of technology services and systems
  • Define and deliver infrastructure products and services that meet the needs of the organisation and our tauira
  • Manage the design, procurement, installation, upgrading, operation, control, maintenance and effective use of the organisation's infrastructure technology services, including Azure, Microsoft 365, and Cisco Network, to ensure it is reliable, efficient, and secure
  • Manage the endtoend delivery of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality
  • Identify, assess, and manage risks, ensuring they are minimised or mitigated to protect the business and its assets
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies, incorporating them into organisation's infrastructure and products as appropriate
  • Demonstrate a collaborative leadership approach that supports kaimahi to achieve Te Wānanga o Aotearoa's mission of tauira success

About you - you'll have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline
  • Microsoft Certification (Azure, Microsoft 365)
  • Excellent experience in cloud, network, and systems engineering
  • Strong understanding of Azure, Microsoft 365, Cisco Network, and other relevant infrastructure technologies and systems
  • Excellent experience in a leadership and people management role, with the ability to motivate and engage a team of technical specialists
  • Strong experience in project management, with experience managing endtoend delivery of projects
  • Full NZ Drivers Licence
