**About the Role**

As the Project Lead - Workforce & Development, you will lead the design and delivery of workforce development strategies that strengthen Māori public health workforce capability. You’ll engage with key stakeholders, develop training programs, and implement culturally responsive initiatives that support workforce retention and growth.

This role offers an opportunity to contribute to health equity and workforce resilience while embedding kaupapa Māori principles into workforce development. Your work will contribute to advancing Māori wellbeing through innovation and leadership, aligning with Hāpai Te Hauora’s mission of **Oranga Tangata, Oranga Whenua**.

This is a fixed term full time opportunity until July 2026.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Workforce Development & Capacity Building - Design and implement training programs, workshops, and professional development strategies tailored to Māori public health professionals.
- Stakeholder Engagement - Build strong relationships with iwi, health providers, tertiary institutions, and government agencies to enhance workforce opportunities.
- Policy, Research & Innovation - Stay ahead of workforce trends, contribute to strategic workforce planning, and advocate for Māori workforce development needs.
- Administration & Reporting - Ensure compliance with funding agreements, maintain workforce training records, and provide impact reports.
- Professional & Organisational Development - Support internal workforce growth and uphold Hāpai Te Hauora’s strategic priorities.

**Skills and Experience**
- Strong understanding of Te Reo me ōna tikanga and kaupapa Māori approaches.
- Proven experience in workforce development, training, or leadership.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in public health, education, workforce development, or related fields.
- Proven ability to develop and implement workforce strategies that drive sector growth.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and advocacy skills.
- Experience in Māori public health or broader health and social services is desirable.
- Familiarity with digital learning tools and modern training methodologies
