Our Board Secretary position is part of a small Executive Administrative Team and is a pivotal role across Te Pātaka Whaioranga | Pharmac and the wider health sector. This role provides professional, informed secretariat and governance leadership and support to the Pharmac Board and two Committees of the Board.

The purpose of this role is to
- Operational support to the Pharmac Board and committees of the Board. The role is responsible for the agenda setting, facilitation, quality assurance, and distribution of Board papers and will attend Board meetings to capture decisions made and action points. The role is the key contact to the Board Chair and Board members.
- To work closely with Pharmac's Leadership Team to enable information between them and the Chief Executive to flow smoothly and in doing this enabling this role to keep abreast of the issues important to the Chief Executive, Board, and the Minister of Health.
- It is a largely autonomous role that allows you enough scope to truly manage and foster relationships whilst.
- There will be some flexibility required on occasion, however, the bulk of time we anticipate that the requirements will be known in advance and can be planned for.

Mā‎ wai te mahi nei? | Who are we looking for?
- Proven background in a similar role with a high level of secretariat and governance experience (essential)
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written and an ability to prepare correspondence, reports and briefings of the highest quality.
- An ability to exercise a professional approach and judgement together with a high level of confidentiality.
- Experience within the Public Sector is highly desirable.
