Are you passionate about good governance and ready to make an impact at the enterprise level?
Based in Wellington and reporting to our Chief Governance Officer, this role offers the opportunity to work as part of the team that is accountable for the governance of all boards of directors within the New Zealand Post Group. As our Associate Company Secretary, you'll help shape and maintain best-practice governance systems across the New Zealand Post Group, ensuring compliance with the Companies Act and other relevant legislation.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the Chief Governance Officer in fulfilling Company Secretary responsibilities across NZ Post Group.
- Leading governance operations for nominated boards and committees, including minute-taking.
- Advising on and drafting board papers, maintaining governance frameworks, and ensuring compliance with the Companies Act.
- Leading governance processes and contributing to the Group's Annual Integrated Report.
- Building strong relationships across the business and supporting senior leaders in delivering effective governance.
- Supporting the Governance & Sustainability Leadership Team with planning and coordination.
- Providing legal support (as capacity allows) to help manage risk and regulatory obligations.

As our ideal candidate, you'll be passionate about good governance, and thrive in a collaborative environment. Along with your Bachelor's degree in Law and strong experience in a major law firm or corporate environment, your success in this role will be grounded in your:
- Proven expertise in corporate governance principles and practices;
- Familiarity with New Zealand governance frameworks and board operations;
- Exceptional writing skills and a high level of discretion and professionalism;
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills;
- A pragmatic approach to successfully delivering business projects.
