Ngā kawenga | About the role
Our People and Capability team support a nationwide diverse team of 10,000 people working in a range of disciplines including custody, community corrections, psychology, nursing and corporate. Our job is to enable them to achieve our strategy, Hokai Rangi, through the 24/7 services we deliver.
We have an opportunity for a talented Director to join our senior leadership team. The Director, Talent and Leadership leads a strategic focus on lifting our organisational culture, performance and effectiveness, aligning to our overarching strategy, Hōkai Rangi. Central to this mahi will be driving performance in talent acquisition, leadership development, organisational design, and transformation.
A newly established position, this role is a true opportunity to shape the future of Department of Corrections, Ara Poutama Aotearoa's organisational capability. It will be responsible for future of work initiatives that support organisational transformation in the medium to long term.
Key deliverables in this role will be supporting the development of a strong People Plan and building a dynamic employer brand that will ensure we attract and keep the talent we need to achieve our goals.

Your career has seen you operate as a senior leader, across the public and private sectors, in multiple roles. You bring with you deep functional and technical expertise across all aspects of a modern Talent and Leadership function.

**You will bring the following in your kete**:
- Experience in strategic workforce development and planning
- An ability to deliver key projects within complex organisational environments and settings
- Strong cultural capability and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of people
- A tertiary qualification in organisational psychology or a related human resources discipline, or equivalent professional experience

Utu ā-tau | Salary
The midpoint of the salary range $202,140 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $171,819 -$242,568 Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role
