Director - Markets, Investors & Reporting
1 week ago
We are New Zealand's Financial Markets Authority - Te Mana Tātai Hokohoko.
Our new role has grown into something pretty exciting. Now let's talk about yours.
We have a unique opportunity for you to combine your senior leadership and financial markets, investment, and/or financial reporting experience to play your part in creating a brighter future for consumers and New Zealand's financial markets.
What are we doing and why?
We are growing and getting ready to deliver on our significant remit expansion. With our clear focus and more amazing people on the team, we'll achieve our goal of becoming a world-leading conduct regulator.
This Director will oversee the investment management sector, including billions of New Zealanders' retirement and first home savings in KiwiSaver; our work to lift the quality of auditing and financial reporting in New Zealand's financial system; financial markets infrastructure including our regulatory oversight and broader relationship with the NZX; plus brand-new regimes for critical markets infrastructure, benchmark administration and mandatory climate-related disclosures requiring nearly 200 entities to produce annual climate statements that identify and report on the impact of climate change on their organisations and disclose their greenhouse gas emissions.
As our new Director - Markets, Investors & Reporting, you'll have significant scope to develop strategic regulatory activities that will enhance consumer outcomes when investing and dealing with the financial markets.
So, what's it like to work at the FMA?
It's purposeful. Our mission is to create a fair and transparent financial sector that serves all New Zealanders. We are looking for people with a strong sense of collaboration and fair play.
It's stimulating. We need to be thinkers and initiators. We're looking for our Director to bring relevant sector expertise, ideally combined with professional qualifications in accountancy or auditing and knowledge of financial services regulation.
It's supportive. We have a culture that allows everyone to bring their best selves to work. We value people with open minds, an appetite for ongoing learning and a strong orientation towards collaborative working.
