Senior Advisor Digital Channels

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Advisor to join a busy, supportive, fun-loving Engagement and Communications Team.
Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga - The Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) leads Aotearoa New Zealand's housing and urban development work programme. Mō te tūnga | About the role The role provides high-quality, user-focused digital and content advice and support across our digital channels including the HUD website, intranet and social media platforms. The salary range for this role is $98,749 - $120,693 + 3% Kiwisaver contribution. Mōu | About you You have proven experience working at a strategic level, leading the development and implementation of digital communications strategies, standards, policies and processes. Taking a hands-on approach, you'll be able to provide trusted digital guidance, advice and support to the business; manage and develop our digital channels; write and edit content in plain language; and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. We are looking for someone with a collaborative working style, who is a great team player. You'll be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines in a complex environment. What you'll bring to the role:

- Demonstrated experience in a communications role, ideally in the public sector
- Expertise in developing and implementing digital communications strategies, standards, policies and processes
- Excellent project and time management skills - able to handle competing priorities including BAU and project work involving implementation of website enhancements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing, editing and proof-reading content for internal and external channels, including websites, intranets, newsletters, and social media
- A strong understanding of user experience principles and best practice
- Knowledge and understanding of government web standards and web content best practice, including accessibility, search engine optimisation and plain language
- Experience interpreting and translating web analytics into meaningful recommendations for improvements
- Practical experience with content management systems (preferably Silverstripe) and M365 products
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors
