About us
Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand’s Firearms Regulator. Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.
**To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions**: effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.
We are committed to fostering a culture of safe and responsible firearms use, gun ownership and awareness by working collaboratively with the firearms community, our stakeholders, and fellow agencies.
About the role
Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority, is focused on making our communities safer by overseeing the legitimate possession and use of firearms in New Zealand. Contributing to the delivery of these outcomes, the Senior Brand and Channels Advisor will help Te Tari Pūreke create compelling artefacts and campaigns through integrated channels that help the firearms community better understand their obligations, support compliance, encourage safe possession and use of firearms, and builds understanding and trust in our role as the regulator.
Supporting the Manager of Communications, you will own and lead all aspects of how our visual identity is presented, from strategy through to assurance that it is being used consistently across the organisation, including providing oversight of ‘outsourced’ design and production processes. This will be achieved by being involved from the project commissioning phase, acting as a source of guidance on all aspects of our identity and channels as projects are scoped, developed, and then delivered. You will also be a quality assurance gateway before these projects ‘go live’.
On a day-to-day basis the Senior Brand and Channels Adviser will help deliver channel strategies, and lead design processes for the production of high-quality collateral and outputs that may go in both traditional and online media. You will be developing and maintaining the brand guidelines for the organisation, and you will provide advice and insights to ensure the organisation is producing collateral that is compliant with relevant standards (for example, accessibility), and when all-of-government procurement processes are relevant and are to be used.
Other key aspects of your role include supporting the development and implementation of Te Tari Pūreke advertising and campaigns, working with our advertising partner shaping the channel mix appropriate to each campaign. You will work closely with our web and social media team members, ensuring these channels are strategy-driven and integrated both on a day-to-day basis and within campaigns.
You will be a thought-leader within the ‘Identity and channels’ pillar of our Communication Team. Obviously, as the Senior Brand and Channels Advisor you will be a whizz on major design programmes; you will have a great understanding of modern communications channels - especially online; which doubled with being a self-starter and problem solver, will see you delivering exceptional support that furthers our vision and mission.
**Key Deliverables**:
Becoming the ‘go-to’ person within Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority on all aspects of the visual identity and channel use, including monitoring and ensuring consistency across our organisation with our visual identity and channel guidelines and strategies. The role will develop and maintain the brand guidelines for the organisation.
Supporting the development and implementation of the Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority advertising campaigns. This may at times include overseeing and co-ordinating the delivery of specific campaigns and campaign elements, or ensuring teams that are working on these solutions remain consistent with relevant Te Tari Pūreke channel and visual identity guidelines.
You will be integral to developing or further refining our channel strategies. You will champion the approach, as well as visual elements that enhance Te Tari Pūreke - Firearms Safety Authority’s online presence and which contribute to our online strategy (both web and social media presence).
Providing day-to-day design support and advice contributing to the creation of high-quality, user-centric, brand-consistent collateral - whether these are insourced or outsourced. You will be a quality control gate, prior to new collateral rolling out.
Offering high-quality advice to the organisation on creative and design processes, as well as contributing ideas for increasing engagement and usability (especially in our online channels) and providing time estimates and reliable costings of designed collateral as required. This will include providing guidance on issues related to access and delivery e.g. e-government guidelines, web standards, digitisation, copyri
