We are seeking a social media specialist to join our join our busy and dynamic team. This is a permenant role which we are looking to fill as soon as possible.
The Digital and Insights team manage social media, video, web, intranet, and our consultations tool. We work closely together in an agile way, to connect our work and better support the Ministry. Our culture is collaborative, creative and fun.
We need to connect with people on an emotional level and create campaigns that change individual and collective behaviour. As a Digital Advisor, your primary responsibility will be to help run the Ministry's social media channels, working as a team alongside our Senior Digital Advisor and Digital Advisor. You will need a broad range of skills to be successful, including, writing for social media, content development and design, running paid and organic social media campaigns, community management, and working with external suppliers on video production. This will enable you to make content that pushes the boundaries for Government social media.
Understanding our audiences through analytics and user research is a core part of the Digital and Insights team's work. You will analyse social media posts and campaigns, to understand content performance and use these insights to better understand our audiences, measure our progress, and work out how we can improve.
We strive to be digitally inclusive, build te ao Māori into our work, and keep people's information safe. If you can write digital content in te reo Māori, you will help take engagement of our digital channels to the next level.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
Your can-do attitude, love for learning new digital tools and tech-savvy nature will not go unnoticed. You'll get satisfaction out of advising MfE staff how to best use social media and other digital platforms to connect with New Zealanders and each other.
- Excellent technical knowledge of social media channels for organisations including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
- Experience running paid and organic social media campaigns for organisations
- Experience in creating and writing content for social media
- Experience using tools within the Adobe suite to produce creative and innovative content
- Experience analysing social media performance and audience insights to produce informative reports
- Understand how to create accessible content
- Excellent customer service to all our internal clients
- Experience making recommendations and influencing on issues relating to digital channels
- Positive, can-do attitude, helping to enable a diverse and inclusive culture

Whānuitanga Utu ā-Tau | Salary range
Salary range for this role is $77,280 to $93,565 pa. Appointment within this range will be based on skills and experience.
