**The role**
We’re on the hunt for a **Finance Administrator**, someone who lives for clean books, clear processes, and the quiet joy of reconciling to $0.00.
You’ll be the go-to for everything from payroll and invoicing to liaising with external finance teams. While you might not always be front and centre, your work will keep the lights on (literally), make sure staff get paid on time, and give our founders and ops team the confidence to make sharp financial decisions.
This role is **based in our central Christchurch office**, working alongside a team that brings energy, focus, and great playlists. We work value the kind of collaboration, camaraderie, and clarity that comes from sharing the same space.
**Day to day, you’ll be**:
- Managing payroll
- Reconciling transactions across entities
- Sending customer invoices and handling follow-ups
- Reviewing and coding expense claims
- Owning tax returns
- Preparing our weekly ops reporting pack
- Forecasting cash flow at a basic level and flagging ahead
- Coordinating with our external finance consultants globally
**Requirements**:
**This role is for you if you**:
- Have experience working with Xero and love things being where they _should_ be
- Are organised, methodical, and allergic to ambiguity
- Can communicate clearly with internal teams and customers (especially around $$)
- Like being the person who quietly makes everything run smoothly
- Have experience or confidence working across multiple currencies and entities
- Are proactive and notice financial red flags _before_ they wave

- Enjoy working independently and managing your own time, especially when collaborating across time zones. We’re big on trust, not micromanagement
- Find satisfaction in systems that just hum
- Know your way around tools like Wise, Deel, and Slack
- Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup environment where structure exists, but taking the lead is key.
**Our Komodo Ways of Working**:
- We have core working hours with approachability and open communication key, regardless of location (we have team members in NZ, the UAE, the UK and HK). Outside of these hours, work schedules can be adjusted as needed, provided we put our team and customers first
- Our Christchurch office has flexi work with anchor days to allow focus and office buzz
- We always place the needs of our customers and the wellbeing of our teammates at the forefront when making decisions
**Start date**: Flexible, ideally July 2025
**Location**: In person at our HQ in Christchurch, New Zealand
**Hours**: 20 per week (flex for the right person)
**Salary**: Competitive (genuinely), and we’ll chat based on your experience
