Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Breast Radiologist to join our Regional Breast Screening service, covering Capital Coast, Hutt Valley, and Wairarapa District.

This can be a dual-role position combining the responsibilities of a Breast Radiologist with those of a Clinical Director & Clinical Lead.

The role includes facilitating the provision of high-quality radiological services to clinical specialties in Breast Screening Central and symptomatic breast services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitating high-quality radiological services for Breast Screening Central and symptomatic breast services
  • Providing advisory and diagnostic services for radiological breast examinations, including procedure determination and equipment evaluation
  • Leading quality control, interpretation, advice, and support to staff within Breast Screening and Symptomatic Breast Services
  • Contributing to strategic direction of Breast Screen Central and Community Services Division

Requirements

  • Vocationally registered in Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
  • FRANZCR or equivalent qualification and eligibility for vocational registration with MCNZ
  • Professionally active within the BSA programme
  • Consistently high standards of medical care and leadership direction
  • Relevant experience, skills, and clinical practice

Estimated Salary: As per ASMS SECA contract, around $200,000 - $300,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
