Senior Medical Oncologist Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Medical Oncologist to join our team in Dunedin Hospital on a permanent basis. As a Senior Medical Oncologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading a team of medical oncologists, and contributing to the development of new treatments and therapies.
About the RoleThe Southern Blood & Cancer Service provides a comprehensive range of services, including chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and supportive care. As a Senior Medical Oncologist, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide seamless care to patients with cancer. You will also have the opportunity to participate in research projects and contribute to the development of new treatments and therapies.
Key Responsibilities- Providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of medical oncologists
- Developing and implementing treatment plans and protocols
- Conducting research and participating in clinical trials
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients
To be successful as a Senior Medical Oncologist, you will need:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or an equivalent qualification
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings
We offer a competitive salary range of $185,380 - $267,980 per annum pro rata, plus benefits such as:
