Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Kaiurungi Maori Editor to lead our Maori language and culture initiatives and ensure their integration into our newsroom.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of te ao Maori and its applications, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Rautaki Maori strategy
  • Collaborate with senior editorial team to promote Maori inclusion
  • Provide editorial guidance and support to staff
  • Ensure accurate representation of te reo Maori and concepts from te ao Maori

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in journalism and writing
  • Excellent judgment and editing skills
  • Good knowledge of te ao Maori and its applications
  • Familiarity with digital landscape and social media platforms
  • Strong relationship management skills
