We opened our first Ruma Reo Rua (te reo Maori bilingual classroom) in 2024 and our second tuakana (Y4–8) class in January 2025 (with a fixed term kaiako).
We now invite applications for a permanent kaiako Maori in our te reo Maori Level 2 tuakana bilingual classroom.We are seeking a respected, dedicated, and experienced professional who brings:Strong, positive relationships within their community and roheA secure understanding of tikanga MaoriConfidence and fluency in speaking and teaching te reo MaoriProven experience in teaching and implementing responsive pedagogiesA successful track record of working with tamariki, schools, and communitiesThe ability to collaborate effectively within a dual-medium kura and alongside a small, close-knit hapu, ensuring successful outcomes for allStrength and passion for teaching Y4–8 students.We pride ourselves on our positive and supportive environment which fosters success by removing barriers.
