Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Kahui Mauaka team as a Cultural Advisor - Maori Health. In this role, you will provide strategic cultural advice to Hato Hone St John to build cultural competency, partner with trust and confidence with iwi and Maori communities in the spirit of Mana Motuhake.

About the Role

  • Provide day-to-day support, administration, and co-ordination of initiatives led by Kahui Mauaka
  • Ensure key initiatives are prioritised, recorded, and reported effectively
  • Collaborate with Kahui Mauaka to ensure consistency of messaging, and translation of strategic intent into effective implementation

Key Qualifications

  • An understanding of te reo Maori and a desire to progress te reo Maori knowledge
  • Previous lived experience working within te ao Maori or Hauora Maori
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Self-motivated; a strong team player with credibility
