Role Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Kahui Mauaka team as a Cultural Advisor - Maori Health. In this role, you will provide strategic cultural advice to Hato Hone St John to build cultural competency, partner with trust and confidence with iwi and Maori communities in the spirit of Mana Motuhake.

About the Role

  • Effectively co-ordinate the administrative support for Maori Health and Equity Leads/Manager and General Manager Maori Health and Equity
  • Support Kahui Mauaka to ensure Hato Hone St John effectively embeds the Aka Strategy across the entire organization
  • Collaborate with Kahui Mauaka to ensure consistency of messaging, and translation of strategic intent into effective implementation

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure new initiatives harness and align to the vision of iwi, hapu and whanau to ensure alignment with Hato Hone St John's Aka Strategy
  • Have an understanding of Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora, their vision and strategic goals to ensure alignment with Hato Hone St John's journey forward with Maori Health Equity
  • Support workplan and initiatives across Hato Hone St John to enhance Maori Health outcomes whilst ensuring mana Motuhake
