About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Medical Oncologist to join our team in Dunedin Hospital on a permanent basis.

The Southern Blood & Cancer Service provides a team of 8 Medical Oncologists and 1 nurse practitioner, 5 Radiation Oncologists and 6 Haematologists working in a tertiary referral centre with strong links to the School of Medicine at Otago University.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide specialist medical care to patients with cancer
  • To participate in outreach clinics to peripheral centres
  • To be part of an on-call roster overseeing admissions and managing in-patients with your RMO team, and providing advice to clinicians and patients throughout the district

Requirements

A requirement of the position is that you will have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians or an equivalent qualification, enabling specialist (vocational) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

Salary and Benefits

This role belongs to the ASMS Collective Agreement and falls between the Step 1 ($185,380) and Step 15 ($267,980 p.a prorata). The salary range reflects the level of experience and qualifications required for this position.
