Spectrum Care is seeking a dedicated Community Support Worker to join our Intensive Respite Service team.

This pivotal role involves providing crisis support for young people in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team, family/whanau, professionals, and external agencies like Starship Hospital.

As a key member of the team, you will provide temporary support for young people in times of crisis, working closely with colleagues and external partners to ensure their needs are met.

This dual role offers an exciting opportunity to work primarily as a Community Support Worker in our Intensive Respite Service and periodically in our supported living service.

You will be responsible for supporting individuals with various needs, enabling full engagement in activities and promoting independence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing crisis support for young people in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Working with colleagues, family/whanau, professionals, and external agencies to meet the needs of young people
  • Supporting individuals with various needs, enabling full engagement in activities and promoting independence
  • Collaborating with the team to develop and implement plans that meet the unique needs of each individual
Requirements:
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence
  • Availability to work 8-hour shifts on a 24/7 roster
  • Reliability, resilience, and passion for working with people
  • Experience working with youths and knowledge of youth culture and issues
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations
  • Good communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to provide support and motivation with personal cares and daily living skills
