About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Geriatrician to join our growing team of Specialist Physicians in Elderly Care.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver equitable health outcomes for Māori as Tāngata Whenua.

Service Overview

Our service provides healthcare for Older People across Northland, covering an area of 12,600 square kilometres with a population of 170,000.

We have been developing and expanding our service to meet the needs of the rapidly growing older population of Northland, aiming to provide better care for the frail elderly across both hospital and community settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and expertise in Geriatric Medicine
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver person-centred care
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve health outcomes for Māori
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
  • Eligibility or ability to achieve eligibility for vocational registration
  • Advanced training in Geriatric Medicine or equivalent experience

Salary

The salary for this role is estimated at NZD $250,000 - $350,000 per annum, depending on experience.
