Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Geriatrician to join our team of Specialist Physicians in Geriatric Medicine. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, providing health care services for older people across Northland.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Provide high-quality patient care as part of a multidisciplinary team in the Acute Care of the Elderly (ACE) service and Emergency Department.">
  • Contribute to the development and expansion of our service to meet the needs of the rapidly growing older population in Northland.">
  • Participate in outpatient clinics on five sites across Northland, including inpatient orthogeriatric services, fracture liaison, and perioperative services.">
  • Collaborate with community rehabilitation teams, regional needs assessment services, and Gerontology nurse specialists to enhance patient outcomes.">
  • Support the growth and development of our Hospital in the Home / Early supported discharge services, Dementia, and Rehabilitation services.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • ">
  • A minimum of 2 years of post-fellowship experience in Geriatric Medicine or a related field.">
  • Demonstrated expertise in Geriatric Medicine, with a strong understanding of the complex needs of older adults.">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.">
  • A commitment to professional development and ongoing education in Geriatric Medicine.">
  • The ability to relocate to Whangarei, Northland, with a competitive relocation package available to support your move.">
