**Gardener - Whangarei**

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Gardener to join our Gardening Team on a full-time permanent basis. If you enjoy working outdoors, looking after gardens and want to be part of a great team we would love to hear from you.

This role is critical within our Whangarei based team and the successful applicant will be responsible for the planting and maintenance of gardens in parks and reserves within the Whangarei Council area. Citycare Property maintains parks and reserves across Whangarei and it's our responsibility to look after the spaces where communities gather, connect with others and with nature. Our people are local, we care about the spaces we look after and the wellbeing of our communities.

**Key Responsibilities**:
This role will be responsible for:

- Ongoing maintenance of gardens, parks and reserves
- Working on a reactive and/or scheduled basis in accordance with contract specifications
- Annual bedding displays
- Basic weeding
- Line trimming
- Mulching

**Requirements**:

- Full Class 1 Driver Licence (class 2 desired)
- Experience in garden maintenance or relevant industry
- A relevant national certificate in Horticulture is desired but not essential
- Ability to work to and meet deadlines
- A strong emphasis on health and safety
- Ability to work alone and within the wider team
- Passion for the local community
- The right to work in New Zealand
