Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior People and Culture Business Partner to join our team on a fixed-term basis. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in driving organisational effectiveness and achieving business goals.

About the Role
  • You will partner with executive leaders to understand business objectives, challenges, and talent needs, providing strategic guidance and recommendations to drive organisational success.
  • Deliver company-wide initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders and tracking timelines to meet goals.
  • Partner with business leaders on organisational design to optimise efficiency and performance.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with Executives and Branch Leaders to understand business objectives, challenges, and talent needs, providing strategic guidance, insights, and recommendations to drive organisational effectiveness and enable achievement of business goals.
  2. Deliver company-wide P&C initiatives both within the annual employee lifecycle and change projects outside BaU processes ensuring appropriate communication and involvement of key stakeholders, tracking and meeting of timelines.
  3. Partner with business leaders on organisational design to optimise efficiency.
  4. Provide expert advice and case management of complex employment relations matters in the portfolio and provide coaching and support to the advisory team on employment relations.
  5. Coach Branch Leaders on talent retention, managing employment relation and performance management cases, and staff engagement to enhance the employee experience.
  6. Contribute to and execute the P&C strategy that supports the business growth plan.
  7. Mentor and develop the generalist P&C team.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of broad generalist experience across all aspects of P&C.
  • Proven experience as a business partner, working in a strategic capacity with Senior Leaders and Executive Leadership teams.
  • A high level of proven understanding of NZ employment law and Employment Relations practices and demonstrated experience of pragmatic delivery.
  • Excellent coaching skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to manage employee relations, performance issues (end to end), and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborative style and a contributor to a positive team environment.
