Salary

This role comes with a competitive salary range between $185,380 and $267,980 per annum pro rata, as outlined in the ASMS Collective Agreement.

About the Role

We are seeking an outstanding Pediatrician to join our team, who will provide comprehensive general pediatric inpatient and outpatient care, including supporting a level two Neonatal service with up to 1,600 deliveries per annum.

The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide and varied pathology, supported by strong links with tertiary providers throughout New Zealand, and have the opportunity to focus on outpatient care only.

Our team also provides outreach/rural outpatient clinics in Gore and Queenstown, and we have a close working relationship with our colleagues at Dunedin Hospital and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, prioritizing family-centered practice and actively involving patients and their families in decision-making processes.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and programs that promote excellence in pediatric care.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate records, adhere to quality standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in teaching, training, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

  • Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) or equivalent qualification.
  • Eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of certification.
