About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Medical Specialist Nurse Leader to join our team at This Is An IT Support Group in Southland Hospital. The successful candidate will provide specialist emergency nursing care and expertise, mentor staff, and collaborate across the organisation.

About the Team/Service/Locations:

Te Whatu Ora - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. We take pride in all the services we provide, aiming to improve, promote, and protect the health of our region.

About You:

  • You must be a current NZ nursing council registration holder.
  • Proven practice and advanced knowledge in emergency nursing is required.
  • A postgraduate qualification or working towards one is preferred.
  • Excellent communication techniques, including conflict resolution, diffusion, and mediation skills.
  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth.
  • Experience in projects/initiatives giving effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, particularly in healthcare settings.

Salary Range: This role is covered by the Designated Senior Nurse Scale, Grade 2 between Step 1 $116,040 and $127,674 per annum, dependant on relevant experience.
