Paediatric Specialist with Opportunity for Leadership

**About the Role**
We are seeking a highly skilled Paediatric Specialist to join our team at Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand Southern, Southland Hospital. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive general paediatric inpatient and outpatient care.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in working with patients and families from diverse backgrounds and will be committed to delivering high-quality patient care. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to develop and implement effective treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
In addition to your clinical expertise, we value candidates who possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Provide expert medical care to children and adolescents in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient units.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each patient.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, documenting all interactions with patients and their families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize departmental performance.
**Requirements:**
- FRACP qualification (or equivalent) and eligibility for vocational registration with the Medical Council of NZ.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments in complex situations.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in paediatric medicine.
