About the Role



We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist Clinician to join our multidisciplinary team at the Inpatient Unit or Community Service. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.



Key Responsibilities





  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments using evidence-based tools and clinical expertise;

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that cater to the unique needs of each client;

  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records and other required documentation;

  • Prescribe medications when necessary;

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective care delivery and coordination.



Requirements



To be successful in this role, you will need:





  • Current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand;

  • Experience working with adult patients with mental illness in an Inpatient Unit and/or community setting;

  • A motivated team player who delivers high-quality care to patients and their families/whānau;

  • Commitment to clinical and professional development;

  • Competency with Te Ao Māori, Tikanga, and Te Reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth;

  • Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.



Benefits



We offer a competitive salary range between $185,383 and $267,980 per annum pro-rata, depending on experience and qualifications. Other benefits include:
