Job Description
This exciting opportunity is for a skilled Financial Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term basis for parental leave cover. As our ideal candidate, you will have experience in financial accounting principles and procedures, with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Your key responsibilities will include preparing annual reports for Horizons and our Council Controlled Organisation, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end processes. You will also review payment approvals, prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, contribute to Council monthly reporting, and work with external auditors during the audit process.

Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification (essential)
  • Previous experience in a Financial Accounting role
  • CA or ACA or equivalent (desirable)

You will also possess excellent verbal presentation and business writing skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work to tight timeframes. Results-oriented and curious, you will thrive in an environment where collaboration and teamwork are highly valued.
