The role will involve providing strategic oversight of the agency's work programme, building strong and productive relationships with iwi / hapū and stakeholders, and offering guidance and advice to Ministers on complex issues.

You will need to have excellent engagement skills and proven credibility with iwi, Treaty partner organisations, and wider Māori stakeholders. An appreciation and application of Māori cultural identity and values, along with a commitment to tikanga Māori, matapono Māori, and kaupapa Māori, is also required.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful partnerships and make a positive impact on the lives of New Zealanders.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Strong organisational leadership and delivery skills
  • Able to lead organisational change
  • Provide high quality and evidence-based advice on complex issues

The estimated salary for this role is $180,000 per annum, plus benefits.

This role is based in Wellington, working for Te Kawa Mataaho | Public Service Commission, supporting the Office for Māori Crown Relations – Te Arawhiti in its obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi – Treaty of Waitangi.
