This team supports the Director of Mental Health and Addiction's regulatory roles.The team:Monitors and reports on the mental health system's compliance with legal requirementsAdministers the rules and permissions for individuals who are subject to compulsory assessments and treatmentsAdvises the Director of Mental Health and Addiction, and the MinisterRegulates the system that enables recreational drugs to be tested to minimise harmThe principal advisor will be expected to:Understand the New Zealand health and disability sectorHelp strengthen the Ministry's regulatory roleProvide high quality advice and support to the Director of Mental Health and Addiction that is legally robust and appropriately balances all the relevant factorsEngage with service providers and organisations that are subject to regulatory requirementsSupport, coach, and mentor other members of the teamBe able to operate without a high degree of direction, using initiative and judgement to manage risks and escalate appropriatelyKo matou me to matou whare - What we bringUnlock your career potential at Manatu Hauora, where you'll discover a world of opportunities for personal and professional growth.
