You will enrich the lives of our society's most vulnerable and be part of an inclusive culture where you can make a difference while growing your career.About the RoleThis role is a permanent full-time role working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, worked between the hours of 9am to 4:30pm, with occasional weekend coverage as required.
You will identify the leisure activities of each resident based on their interests' preferences and abilities and coordinate an activities programme based on their needs.
You will have a big impact on the quality of life for our residents by promoting social interaction, physical activity, and mental stimulation for our residents.Duties and ResponsibilitiesManage activity plans for residents across this 91-bed care home, with rest home and hospital levels of care.Plan, develop, and lead individualised activity plans for each resident based on the activity assessment outcome, their interests, and preferences.Ensure our valuable residents are treated with full respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.Demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Bupa Health & Safety policies.Maintain personal and professional development - we have on-site managers who always encourage our staff to up-skillSkills and QualificationsYou'll have a NZQA (or equivalent) Diversional Therapy (level 4) Certificate (or working towards a DT qualification).A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar healthcare setting is preferable.Have a creative flair to contribute towards a full and varied activities programme and help look after our residents while creating a caring atmosphere.You are a caring, team player, vibrant, and energetic, with an active interest in organising activities for multiple levels of function and ability.Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.You will be required to drive the van for outings so a clean, full driver's license is essential.Applicants must be legally entitled to work in NZ.Reasons to BelongFully subsidised Southern Cross health insurance to our eligible permanent NZ employees and a discount on insurance cover for eligible family members.Wellbeing discounts and advice, EAP counselling services, study support, and cultural leave.Paid parental leave - in addition to standard parental leave, Bupa offers 12 weeks of paid leave for primary carers and 2 weeks for secondary carers.Refer-a-friend programme of $750 - $2,000.Professional Development – in-house and external training and development.Industry-competitive remuneration and benefits, and internal reward and recognition programmes.No matter who you are or where you come from, we encourage you to 'Be You at Bupa.'To express your interest, please submit an online application with your CV and we'll reach out to chat about how you can progress your career with Bupa.Through vision, passion, and sheer hard work, we are now New Zealand's largest aged care and dementia care provider.
